Umeboshi is the Japanese way to pickle plums. Very sour, and always a joy worth when people unconsciously bite into it. Umeboshi is considered a classic ingredient and is commonly used for onigiri. Also, umeboshi are said to decrease stress and promote appetite and digestion.
First, remove the pit from the umeboshi plums. Give the cooked, slightly cooled rice in a bowl and mix it with the umeboshi. Now, form the onigiri.
