Japanese Curry

Japanese Curry

Introduced by British traders in the 19th Century, curry with rice has become a favorite dish of the Japanese. It is usually prepared by frying the meat and vegetables then cook them with the prepared curry sauce mix. There are many types of curry, from mild to very spicy. Almost all you can buy pre-packaged.

Preparation (12 Servings)

  1. Cut up the meat, the onions, the potatoes and the carrots into bitesized pieces.
  2. Fry the pieces in a pan on high heat then add 1400ml water. Bring all to a boil, then simmer for about 20 minutes on medium heat.
  3. Turn down the heat and add the curry mix piece by piece.
  4. Simmer everything for another 20 minutes on low heat, until the curry starts to thicken.
  5. Serve the curry together with boiled rice or noodles.
